The Mat 3 occurrence is located south of Matetlo Creek about 10 kilometres from its confluence with the Tutizika River, approximately 77 kilometres northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The showing is apparently hosted within augite andesite of the Upper Triassic Plughat Mountain Formation (Takla Group). These volcanics are in contact with the Early Jurassic Hogem Plutonic Suite, several kilometres to the south of the occurrence.

The showing is not described but reported to be of similar nature to the Mat 1 showings (094C 099) located 2.9 kilometres to the southeast. This showing would therefore be a quartz vein hosting galena, sphalerite, chalcopyrite, pyrite and silver sulphosalts. A sample assayed 763 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 14192, page 4).

In 2009-10, C.O. Naas examined the provincial Regional Geochemical Survey data and British Columbia MINFILE which led to the staking of the Thane Creek property tenures. A comprehensive compilation of historical exploration work was undertaken and identified four areas that indicated excellent potential for copper-gold mineralization. In 2010, a property visit was carried out and explored three of the target areas identified by the compilation program. Exploration consisted of geochemical sampling with collection of 10 silt samples and 69 rock samples.
